ATR was a Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Blagnac, France. The company was formed in 1981 as a joint venture between Aérospatiale (now Airbus) and Aeritalia (now Leonardo). ATR aircraft consisted mainly of the ATR 42 and ATR 72. Both the ATR 42 and 72 are twin-turboprop, short-haul regional aircraft.
